Live like a local in Asakusa- through food, home cooking, and matcha.
Did you know that there are two types of Matcha?
‘Koicha‘ and ‘Usucha‘. The frothy kind that you usually have the opportunity to drink, is a light, thin tea called usucha. Koicha is what you drink after a meal at a formal tea ceremony, before the thin tea, and is very thick. We serve the both teas in our special way in this experience!
We serve Tenshin, a very light meal, before the tea experience. A seasonal dessert is also served before drinking matcha tea. They fill you up a little and enhance the flavour of the matcha!

Experience an authentic tea ceremony.
As a practitioner trained in the Urasenke Chado tradition over 30 years, I will prepare matcha for you, and guide you in making your own bowl. Unlike a tourist-style performance, this is a genuine moment of hospitality and tradition.
