Explore Asakusa’s lively local shops and market, then join us in our home kitchen to experience beautifully presented New Year’s dishes, inspired by the cha-kaiseki, a traditional tea ceremony meal. The experience concludes with two kinds of matcha served in a peaceful and welcoming tea ceremony.

Experience beautifully presented New Year’s-inspired dishes in a warm, home-style setting.

The experience concludes with two kinds of matcha, including koicha (thick tea), served in our own relaxed and welcoming style.

As a practitioner trained in the Urasenke Chado tradition over 30 years, I will prepare matcha for you, and guide you in making your own bowl. Unlike a tourist-style performance, this is a genuine moment of hospitality and tradition.

Schedule (approx. 4hours)
・Visit a supermarket and local food shops in Asakusa to explore seasonal ingredients.
・Learn about New Year’s- inspired dishes and enjoy a hands-on cooking experience.
・Enjoy the New Year’s dishes in a tea-gathering style with us.
・Learn the basics of the tea ceremony and enjoy two kinds of matcha.
・Try making your own matcha.

Price
This experience includes an Asakusa guided walk, meals, drinks and all fees and taxes.

Dress Code
There are no particular rules, but please wear clothes that are easy to move around in, as you will be walking around and cooking.
